Since the beginning of this year, people are having a renewed interest with the end of the world. According to the Mayans, the world is supposed to end this weekend on December 21. There’s many theories on how the apocalypse will happen, but some people are looking forward to the zombie apocalypse. With the report of the “Miami zombie attack” during the summertime, zombie lovers & survivalists are waiting in anticipation. In fact, an estimated 6,000 Facebook users accepted invites to the zombie apocalypse. One establishment C & R Sports Bar along with Big Top Productions will be celebrating the zombie apocalypse with “THE ROCKING DEAD “ , a costume party happening this Saturday, December 22 featuring Tank 17 and Dr. Shame’s Love Circus. Tank 17 explains to Bohemia how this might be the BIGGEST party ever if we survive the end times.
How did this all come about?
“This all came about with our good friends in Dr. Shame’s Love Circus and Big Top Productions calling us up and saying “we have a good idea, are you guys on board”, and of course with our whole 2012 zombie theme going on, we are in it to win it.”
What merchandise will be available at the show? Anything zombie related?
“Tank 17 will have a few custom made shirts, some with our T-17-Virus Zombie on it, and our usual, some stickers and regular T-shirts, not sure about the other bands merchandise. We also have Phoenix Threadz coming out, and they will be selling their Zombie Survival tactic shirts.”
Who else will be sharing the stage with you besides Dr. Shame’s Love Circus?
“There is a opening band, and sadly we don’t know who it is, and nobody else can remember their name, but it’s a $2-$3 dollar cover charge for 3 bands playing in a cool bar with a amazing sounds system provided by B.T.P.(Big Top Productions) and a whole lot of zombies.”
Will there be a contest for best costume at this event? Any prizes?
“The zombie costume contest will not be anything formal, but Tank 17 will randomly call a few people up front during our set, and we will vote or have the rest of the undead vote and hook them up with a grab bag of sticker and a few other goodies, and most likely a custom shirt and T-17 sticker. We will be asking other bands and vendors to go in on it as well, so that maybe one or two lucky zombies will walk off like some bandits.”
On the subject of costumes, what do you hope to see? Walking Dead cosplay? Traditional zombie makeup? Thriller cosplay?
“Walking Dead get ups would be great since that is everybody’s obsession including ours. Hopefully all sorts, would make it that much more diverse, some traditional, modern, extreme makeup and latex wounds as well as simple paint. Mainly everybody needs to come out dressed up and have a good time being the end of the world and all.”
Is it perfect timing that you have a show during the weekend of the “zombie apocalypse”?
“Timing couldn’t be any more perfect, We said if the world ends, we will be there as zombies rocking out, if it doesn’t we will be there as zombies rocking out!! Assuming that we survive late into the day we will be taken out doing what we love.”
Are you hoping for a zombie apocalypse? If you are, then why?
“Not really, it’s cool to take them out on Call of Duty: Black Ops but as far as having them really here some of us think we are ready for it, some of us just enjoy the games or theme. If it really does happen, Tank 17 and family has the TUSS(Texas Underground Super Soldiers) bunker, so we are ready.”
Which type of zombies would you like to encounter : walkers or runners? Please explain why.
“Walkers. First off, we truthfully don’t know how we are going to react with our first sighting, and runners would require us to run.”
Just in case the zombie apocalypse happens, what advice/survival tips do you have for the masses?
“Survival tactics are like this : Aim for the head, carry a gun and a silent weapon that doesn’t run out of ammo or gas. Get out of the city, trust few, and find Michonne and Daryl and make them your friends. And of course the the Zombieland rules, but mainly double tap, travel in a group/buddy system, and enjoy the little things.”
If this particular show is successful, would you make it into a annual event?
“Or more often but annually would be a good thing, anything zombies is cool, hopefully it’s a success this might be the show to entice people to come out and support more local live music. The local scene can be very hit or miss and this gives everyone kind of a second Halloween costume party for the year.”

Final question. What else should people know about the event? New music? Merchandise deals? Special guests?
“We have a newer song that is a old hip-hop medley of a few songs tossed in with some original music and lyrics, taking a stab at the whole bath salt media thing so it’s rather fun. It’s a one of a kind show for Waco and Cen-Tex, some merchandise by bands and Phoenix Threads, lot’s of interesting people, and you just never know who will show up at something this unique. Also, we will be handing out Ghost clothing stickers as well. “
