You wake up every morning and experience the same things; a gentle breeze, a warm, glowing sun, the feel of the earth beneath your feet. Yet despite all this, we rarely stop and just look around. We don’t take in all those great and wonderful things around us. And it is saddening. Too often, people lose the connection they have with everything around them, and it is truly heartbreaking. For those individuals, I say this: Stop, look, listen and feel. To me, this is what makes a Bohemian. The ability to ponder those little things in life we never pay attention to. It’s so unconventional, it’s like stepping out of your comfort zone. And we all must experience this parallel existence.
I like to think of things like this when I strap on my guitar and go walking. To see a forlorn person’s mood lift by a few simple chords and words is very moving to me. I’ve played both large and small venues and the feelings I get are the same either way. Music is passionate, and the passion must be spread around.
But I digress. What makes me a Bohemian? I believe it is my innate ability to see the good in all people, regardless of past transgressions. That in itself is very unconventional. I believe it is my willingness to play guitar to anyone, even if they aren’t listening to me. I believe it is the power of the subconscious mind who never gets enough credit. And lastly, I believe it is the love I have for humanity and my eagerness to spread it around. So, what makes me a Bohemian? My ability to be myself, regardless of the situation or outcome. I hope this finds you well.
